Pepperpaw padded cheerfully through the camp, smiling at each cat she passed. She seated herself next to the apprentice's den and grinned at the grass. It was the perfect day. Sun shining, breeze blowing... She sighed happily and looked around for some cat to talk to. |

The light brown kitten looked at them shyly. "Hi," he said softly. "I'm Finchkit. Who're you?" the tom-kit added. He really wanted to become a medicine cat, the sweet tom did not like fighting.
